My Laid Back Villa Vacation Style

Villa Vacation style

Hello! It feels amazing to be back at the desk and delving into blog land again – absence really did make my heart grow fonder – I missed you!

After a week spent basking in the warm Majorcan sun, I feel more than ready to get back to the business of blogging – albeit at a pace dictated by the summer school holiday.

Most of our annual summer holidays have been of the self-catering variety. As a family unit we’ve grown to appreciate the indulgent luxury of going at our own pace and not having to fit in with hotel time tables etc.

As such, when I pack, the suitcase space taken up by clothes is considerably smaller than usual. My villa vacation style mix usually consists of swimwear, a few favourites for lounging about in, one or two more dressier items for going out and some versatile accessories to elevate an outfit with minimal effort.

By mixing in the above pieces with the rest of the somewhat minimal suitcase contents, I felt like my holiday wardrobe was truly in tune with our sunny location.

Versatile & Comfy Espadrilles: I wore these ASOS sandals to travel there and back (quick for untying whilst going through airport security!) but they also work with holiday dresses and shorts too. This style has since sold out but I love these too. I also packed these pom pom beauties, a pair of gold gladiator sandals and some pool slides.

Fun Holiday Clutch: What better than a marine life inspired clutch for carting around evening holiday essentials when out for dinner? This gorgeous Louella Odié slouchy pouch doubled as a great jewellery and accessory holdall in my suitcase. Then there’s this crocheted clutch which appeals to my inner monochrome magpie.

Summer Watch: Yes – I am a confirmed watch addict and any excuse to own more than one is welcome. I love the Shore Projects soft leather watch for The White Company for holidays – good against a tanned wrist. Also love the silver mesh version too.

Scent Of Summer: I took a travel sized bottle of The White Company’s DAY Fragrance away on a cruise in May and it’s been a summer favourite ever since. Another recent discovery is Beach and Almost Bare by Bobbi Brown. Both are already added to next year’s summer holiday shopping list!

Statement Gold Cuff: I seem to wear less and less jewellery these days and never more so on holiday. If that statement makes sense! We went out to eat for a couple of evenings and adding an Anthropologie cuff made me feel I’d at least made some effort to dress up a little – I’m style lazy on holiday!

Holiday Earrings: Not strictly just holiday earrings as I bought those pictured in COS in the spring and have been wearing them lots. Normally, a small silver hoop kinda gal, a pair of gold toned geometric babies seemed the perfect summer holiday evening choice.

The Little White Dress: And last but by no means least – the tassel trim dress from ASOS was a firm villa vacation style favourite. Don’t go away to the sun without an easy to wear white dress – I love this one by Stevie May and this one for a more budget friendly alternative.

The one thing I love about a holiday abroad in the sunshine is having the chance to wear the things that I don’t often wear in the UK.

Say Hello! 👋🏻  to pom pom sandals, a backless maxi dress, splashes of bright orange (I know! Me in colour!) and a peasant dress for post pool dips.

And with this hot weather set to continue in the UK, maybe I’ll break out those pom pom sandals a few more times this week. They’re the true definition of shoes that make me smile!

  1. I loved wearing my Pom pom sandals on holiday too! I have to confess I did take some of the charms off, as they were too heavy (and noisy!) for me.
I’m glad you had a good relaxing holiday – get back down to the beach today and make the most of the sunshine! X

    1. Heehe…I did jingle jangle all around Pollensa one evening Sharon – they’re pretty loud and heavy…which is something I thought I’d never say about shoes! We’re off to beach later on this afternoon for a picnic followed by ice cream. So glad you enjoyed your hols too! Amanda xx

  2. Welcome back! You look so relaxed and gorgeous in those photos. I think my favourite outfit is that amazing white maxi dress … just stunning. xxx
