It’s a well documented fact in this house, that once Christmas is over, I’m done with winter and start champing at the bit for warmer weather ooh…about now.
I blame the constant stream of emails showing me tantalising glimpses of spring clothing, collection drops and talking about new season wardrobe planning. I’ve fallen willing victim to this before on numerous occasions, including the time I bought a short sleeved summer dress from Reiss on 5 January…and didn’t get to wear it until May.
Being able to channel my enthusiasm for the forthcoming season is now easier with retailers dropping in trans seasonal pieces all the time and the weather often playing its “I Don’t Know WHAT Season I Am” card.
Which I think is the perfect excuse to be able to snaffle up some of those pieces above on the premise that they can be worn now and later. Well…most of them anyway…My small concession to colour and print in one – love this ASOS dress and I predict a sell-out. Stripes in the form of a New Look shirt – wear now and later as a beach cover up. Whistles make layering easy. Wear under an oversized cardigan now and on its own later. I love these boots by Next – prefect with jeans and then bare legs and dresses when its warmer. New Look have this maxi, lightweight cardigan in grey and black – both would be nice please and thank you. These Sophia Webster alike sandals from Kurt Geiger are a case of get it or regret it. They’e amazing and I’ve been obsessing over them for a couple of weeks now. A cashmere tee from Iris & Ink at The Outnet with 3/4 length trans seasonal sleeves – style genius. For me, distressed jeans are still firmly on the horizon…except now I want mine with BIG turn ups too.
