Spring updates to buy now

It’s a well documented fact in this house, that once Christmas is over, I’m done with winter and start champing at the bit for warmer weather ooh…about now.

I blame the constant stream of emails showing me tantalising glimpses of spring clothing,  collection drops and talking about new season wardrobe planning. I’ve fallen willing victim to this before on numerous occasions, including the time I bought a short sleeved summer dress from Reiss on 5 January…and didn’t get to wear it until May.

Being able to channel my enthusiasm for the forthcoming season is now easier with retailers dropping in trans seasonal pieces all the time and the weather often playing its “I Don’t Know WHAT Season I Am” card.

Which I think is the perfect excuse to be able to snaffle up some of those pieces above on the premise that they can be worn now and later. Well…most of them anyway…

My small concession to colour and print in one – love this ASOS dress and I predict a sell-out.
Stripes in the form of a New Look shirt – wear now and later as a beach cover up.
Whistles make layering easy. Wear under an oversized cardigan now and on its own later.
I love these boots by Next – prefect with jeans and then bare legs and dresses when its warmer.
New Look have this maxi, lightweight cardigan in grey and black – both would be nice please and thank you.
These Sophia Webster alike sandals from Kurt Geiger are a case of get it or regret it. They’e amazing and I’ve been obsessing over them for a couple of weeks now.
A cashmere tee from Iris & Ink at The Outnet with 3/4 length trans seasonal sleeves – style genius.
For me, distressed jeans are still firmly on the horizon…except now I want mine with BIG turn ups too.

  1. Ooh love all these pieces! Was really surprised when I saw the shirt was from New Look, they really are coming up with some gems lately, that short is a definate buy then! Now if it could just be a little warmer!

    1. Am quite impressed with New Look lately – have bought a few wardrobe updaters there recently. In fact as I read your comment, my er, most recent NL delivery arrived so I’ll keep you posted! Bring on the sunshine! xxx

  2. It’s always tricky buying ahead of seasons. Sometimes it doesn’t work and you end up with things you don’t really want when it comes to it! I too am fed up with winter but have just ordered an off duty jumper from Boden (missed the sale but there’s a 15% off just now) because mine for last winter is looking tired and tatty and I got so much wear out of it. But am wondering if I am mad buying winter clothes at this time!

  3. This is such a great Blog… why have I never found this before. Truly inspirational . Love the outfits you’ve put together here. This blog oozes style and class. Definitely going in my favorites.

  4. Funny, I was thinking exactly the same about New look only last night.. I’ve not shopped in there for years, I found they became a bit cheap and nasty but have seen some really nice stuff cropping up on Blogs lately. So much so I went off to check their website and was pleasantly surprised.
