Taking a road trip with Maserati
Well… there’s a blog post title I didn’t think I would ever be typing anytime… ever! Ten years in and I’m still blown away by the opportunities that come my way via this blog.
In early May, Maserati GB got in touch to ask if I would like to create some content for an Instagram takeover. They do this very clever thing where someone takes over their feed each month, driving around in a Maserati and showcasing the car, either in their daily life or perhaps on a bit of a road trip.
They loaned us the super sleek Maserati Ghibli and asked us to take photos in the style we normally would for my Instagram account.
Well… let me see… when I mentioned the possibility of a road trip with Maserati to Mr OS, you can only imagine how his eyes lit up! And then I realised that it coincided with my birthday week and some time off we’d booked to celebrate me turning 49 and our wedding anniversary too.
This is Mudeford Quay – one of my favourite hang outs. You can find out lots more here about the quay and surrounding beaches.
Whenever something like this crops up, I always think very carefully about taking on the project as I think it has to have some meaning or connection. You and I both know we’re not in the realms of owning a Maserati. But you also know I like to have fun and am a huge advocate of indulging in a BIG way once in a while.
I also saw it as a way to showcase pockets of the beautiful New Forest and Dorset and highlight some places you might want to visit if you were thinking of venturing to my neck of the woods.
Not only that but I wanted to give Mr OS an opportunity to experience this with me – after all, without his support over the years, the blog wouldn’t be where it is now.
I couldn’t think of a better way to say Thank You in a way that most members of the male species would appreciate. Well… I guess I can think of another but it’s not that kind of blog!
We went for my birthday lunch at Chewton Glen – one of our favourite places for celebratory treats and they were super helpful when it came to us photographing the car!
Wearing: Sunglasses (as before) | Dress – (old) hush : this Winser London dress is similar | Bag – Cult Gaia | Sandals – Kurt Geiger
Once I’d told him that no, we can’t pack up the car and head for Italy for the week in it, he was more than happy for us to take it on a bit of a mini tour of the south coast whilst capturing the required content.
I also had the idea of making a video for the blog too and put the suggestion to Maserati who kindly agreed to reimburse me for my time spent capturing the Instagram content and to cover the costs of editing the video footage too.
A quick stop off at Branksome beach. I wrote about where to go and what to do in the surrounding area here if you fancy a visit!
Wearing: hush Kaia Dress c/o | Sunglasses – RayBan | Espadrilles (old) Dune : these are doppelgängers!
Anyhoo – we had so much fun driving here there and everywhere throughout the course of our Maserati week. Whilst I felt like I could have done with an extra pair of arms for capturing the right stills for their Instagram and enough usable camera footage, I’m so glad we did it.
So without further ado… here’s part one of our week with Maserati… stay tuned for part two coming later on this month!
Throughout June you can follow our adventure over on Maserati GB’s Instagram account and see all the places we visited too.

Thanks to Maserati GB for covering the cost of creating the Instagram content and video editing and also for loaning us the beautiful Maserati Ghibli – she was an absolute dream!
