That’s right… you heard me correctly…. A Red Dress For Summer.
Mrs Monochrome breaks out of her safe zone at this time of year and when the sun comes out, so does a little experimentation. The hush red Kaia Dress is the grown up version of this one that didn’t survive February’s wardrobe edit. Too short remember? As in WAY too short.
Whenever I wear this hush dress, I get a compliment, usually followed by an exclamation of “Hang on a minute… you’re wearing colour!” In a somewhat twisted way, I’m loving the fact that I can surprise any number of people simply by donning a red dress – clearly my usual monochrome tendencies have reached legendary status.
And it is a true red – check the dress on the site. I realise in some of the photos it looks a little orange or even pink. What can I say – the sun was super bright, life ain’t perfect… and neither are my editing skills in Lightroom!
how i style it
That’s an easy one when you’re talking about a throw on and go dress. For our day out back in May I teamed with an old pair of Dune espadrilles (these Mint Velvet ones are almost identical), my Rae Feather monogrammed basket and the sunhat that I bought in Santorini…. that looks remarkably like this one!
