If I had a pound for every time someone asked me “How do I break out of my winter uniform of jeans and sweater?” I’d probably have enough pounds to go and buy myself another pair of decent jeans and a sweater or two!
In the past, with my official Online Stylist head on, I might have tried to come up with some suitable alternatives but if memory serves, I probably struggled. After all, lets face it – the most cosy and convenient combination this season will involve denim and some form or other of jumper.
And to that end I say… stop fighting it!
If like me you work from home/have a dog to walk/like to be warm/want to feel comfortable then jeans and a sweater is where it’s at.
Perhaps its down to the urge to simplify and the after-effects of one huge final wardrobe declutter a couple of weeks ago, but I’m a big fan of this fuss free combo and no longer in denial about it.
Especially when it comes in a monochrome palette such as this one.
After our recent stay at the Four Seasons in Hampshire, I was in chilled downtime mode and so pulled on my faithful Symons skinny black jeans from The White Company from a couple of years ago and a new sweater by Baukjen.
Throw in that other old favourite, any form of flat boot (love these biker boots!) and I’m a happy camper.
Or in this case, hotel guest. I don’t do camping.
Embrace this faithful winter uniform for it will serve you well, keep you cosy and reduce your decision making time when getting dressed in the mornings!
