Bobbi Brown | A Hero Brand in 2017… And Beyond
I’ve been a huge fan of Bobbi Brown makeup for a few years now so it’s no surprise that when I look back at the beauty brand I bought the most of in 2017, it turned out to be this one.
A truly ageless brand (Hallelujah for those!), I’m pretty sure that any woman I know will tell you yes she’s tried at least one thing and yes, she loved it.
Having read the Living Beauty book and fallen for both the brand ethos, the woman herself, oh and (HELLO!), the sleek monochromatic packaging, a trip to the Bobbi Brown counter soon became a regular habit.
Believing that “makeup is a way for a woman to look and feel like herself, only prettier and more confidant”, Bobbi Brown also strongly advocates not seeking to look “perfect” but encourages us to celebrate our individuality.
Hallelujah to all of that too!
As I’ve gotten older I’ve slowly moved on from my urge to slap a thick layer of coverage EVERYWHERE (definitely a hangover from my teen and early adult acne days), but instead have veered more towards the no makeup, makeup look.
Based on my own experiences, you’d be amazed at how easy it is to find yourself using what you think is right product for years, only to find what you actually need is something quite different.
During the course of the last two years and with more than a few consultations at various Bobbi Brown counters under my belt, I’ve been experimenting with much lighter bases including the Intensive Skin Serum Foundation and the BB Cream SPF 35.
In my pre-Christmas fug, as I tried to remain focused on work but somehow found myself watching pretty much ALL of Anine Bing’s YouTube videos (as you do), I was inspired to try out yet another Bobbi Brown base.
For her everyday face (And oh boy, her beautiful face is certainly NOT your everyday face!), Anine was using the Nude Finish Tinted Moisturiser with just some concealer patted where needed, followed by a light dusting of an illuminating powder.
In the spirit of the influencer becoming the influencee, I found myself browsing the Bobbi Brown site and after a super helpful online chat with one of their makeup artists, I’d soon placed an order that Anine would have no doubt been proud of.
My Bobbi Brown “Glow” Order
Already using the BB Cream, Creamy Concealer Kit and Sheer Finish Pressed Powder in my existing shades meant I could ask a makeup artist what I needed in the new products. I mentioned that the BB Cream in Light was a little on the pale side so they suggested I should try the Light To Medium Tint in the Nude Moisturiser.
Not having used the online advice service before, instead preferring to go into a store or concession, I was super impressed with how helpful and how right they got my shades and would definitely use it again.
Not only that but the online site has some fab offers from time to time. With my package came a Party Pink kit with lip colour, eyeliner and a couple of miniatures too.
This is one happy Bobbi Brown addict over here!
To add to an already growing collection, for Christmas I’d asked for the Buffing Grains and the Face Brush which I’m now loving on both counts. That brush definitely counts as an Everyday Luxury item and looks very stylish on the bathroom shelf.
And what do I have my eye on next? Why that would be the new Extra Glow Collection of course.
Are you a fan?
Do you use Bobbi Brown makeup or skincare and if so, which would be your ultimate, never-go-anywhere-without product?
