Statement Sleeves & Granny Heels

It may come as no surprise that along with my previously mentioned addiction to Granny Heels, there’s a new obsession on the block – the white shirt with statement sleeves.

Starting with this one, I’ve been loving all the elevated white shirts that are popping up at some of my favourite brands this season and in particular, those with the aforementioned statement sleeves.

This is a risky one for someone who is prone to draping her arm in her food/coffee/washing up bowl on a fairly regular basis but I’m not letting a little thing like practicality get in the way!

I snapped up this shirt from Marks & Spencer earlier in the season and ever since have been on the look out for more with better and even more impressive sleeveage. New word for your fashion dictionary.

And as for the ongoing love affair with my Topshop Juno block heels – I love these babies! They’re definitely in the Marmite and Man Repeller category but that only makes me love them more. Stylishly subtle, they make a change from flats whilst retaining the easy-to-walk-in factor.

📝 Style Note: If you fancy trying out the elevated white shirt trend this season but don’t want to splash too much cash, check out the selection here at Mango. I’m in serious danger of wanting them all! 📝

  1. I really like the entire look! It’s not something I think I’d normally seek out but it’s really given me some food for thought. I made my own pair of frayed jeans a few months ago (since I wanted the fit to be just right, I purchased a pair of jeans I liked and trimmed off the bottoms) and I’ve got a shirt that fits the bill, so I’m off to find a pair of “granny shoes,” now to complete my look! I won’t be wearing the combo for a few months as I live in NC and it’s just too hot/humid for the look currently but thanks for the inspiration.

    1. Thank you Joan – so pleased that you like it! I love your idea of cutting the hem off the perfect fitting pair – its all about the DIY hemming and distressing of denim right now! I hope you find a pair of the infamous Granny Heels – these are so comfy its untrue for a heel! Amanda xx

  2. Totally agree with the granny shoes – have both red and grey junos from topshop – very comfy. Although at times I look at them and think why the heck did I buy them in the fist place – so unsexy! However once i put them on my feet and pair them with distressed/frayed denim or slim fit cargos – they really do work for me šŸ™‚
