my goto sources for minimal interior pieces
It’s no secret that my
obsession with love of all things minimal has spilled over into our home these past two years. Actually I prefer to think of it as more of a refining & pairing back process than a spilling over.
Room by room we’re making under spaces and corners. First the dressing room, then the living room. And as I type we’re in the final days of the kitchen refurb and the hallway and landing facelift is almost there. So lots to show you on both fronts very soon!
With each restyle and rehash generally comes a new crop of interior and home retailers to discover – I’m building up quite a list.
Not being one to keep anything on the shopping front to herself for too long, I thought I’d share some of my favourite minimal interior sources to plunder for both inspiration and maybe Er… the occasional *ahem* purchase…
I know I rave on about this online emporium but honestly it’s with very good reason! They carry some of my favourite Scandi brands like HAY and Skagerak plus their own A By Amara range is perfect for both home basics and those standout pieces that bring a little something extra to a room or corner.
Even as a Mostly Minimlist, I’m learning to appreciate the impact of adding something a little more quirky into the mix. And at Amara you can shop for both.

Also Home got in touch with me last year and were kind enough to send me a gorgeous throw and storage basket that I featured here.
The minute I saw what they had to offer, they were instantly bookmarked as a goto interiors source. Established in 2008 by founder Anna Schmidt, Also Home is full of beautifully unique lifestyle pieces you won’t find on the High Street.
Cox & Cox
A recent discovery as I was looking for a chalkboard to go in the kitchen. Which incidentally arrived today and it’s perfect!
It’s not overtly minimalist but I’ve added lots of pieces to my wish list that would fit really well into our home. My lighting obsession is fuelled by this Industrial Glass Pendant and I’m still debating the Matte Gold Cutlery issue. Because it is an issue right?

Cult Furniture was a bit of lightbulb moment discovery by Mr OS – quite literally.
We were after these Edison Bulbs to go in the living room and ever since he showed me their website, I’ve been a huge fan. Other purchases are my Barclay Office Chair, this Vegas Light Up Happy sign and the new Tribeca Triple Hanging Pendant Light for the hallway.
What can I say? He only has himself to blame!
The White Company
And last but never least (I mean… Hello?), my long term favourite The White Company. It’s not just about the cashmere and candles you know – they are my original purveyor of all things minimal and calm.
All the towels, bed linen and cosy throws aside, over the years I’ve amassed more than my fair share of home accessories too. The set of White Lacquer Trays have prompted a gazillion “Oh my… where did you get those?” enquiries and I eagerly ordered two aprons way before work on the kitchen even started. I know. Don’t judge.
