5 Lazy Weekend Breakfast Ideas

lazy weekend breakfast

Start planning that lazy weekend breakfast…

Lazy weekend… two of the best words in the vocabulary if you ask me! Well… maybe with the exception of long weekend.

I was going to save this post for the long Easter weekend but then I figured, if you’re anything like me, all meals, including those of the lazy breakfast variety need to be planned and shopped ahead for.

Whilst these recipes may require a little more time than it takes to pore milk on your cornflakes, the pay off when you sit down to eat, in no real rush at all is more than worth it.

So here’s five lazy weekend breakfast ideas to peruse and then plan in for the four day Easter break. The only stipulation is that you cook at leisure, eat the end result whilst still in PJs and accompany with plenty of coffee and papers…

Monica shared this smoothie bowl recipe, originally found over on Camille Styles – her description of this aesthetically pleasing Insta trend breakfast is spot on! As well as linking to this spinach and banana bowl, Monica’s post also links to four other smoothie bowl combos.

With asparagus season just over the horizon, this would make the perfect Easter breakfast or brunch. My mouth was watering as I read through this recipe. Note to self – don’t construct this type of post until you’ve had lunch!

I LOVE porridge and would happily eat it all year round… the key for me is changing up the toppings. This Madeleine Shaw recipe is autumnal but sounds so delicious that I want to make it now!

Easy, healthy banana oat pancakes

And last but by no means least, a breakfast round up post wouldn’t be a breakfast round up post without some pancakes. These banana oat versions are healthy, quick and easy. Pass the maple syrup!

And if you’re after more breakfast ideas, here’s an oldie but goodie round up of favourites, plus the recent addition of some yummy wholemeal blueberry muffins.

What will you be adding to your breakfast menu come the long Easter weekend?
