How I Would Wear… Gwen Stefani’s Michael Kors Top

I have a bit of a fashion crush on Gwen Stefani – always have had and probably always will. It’s not just the platinum blonde/red lip combo – I love how she just goes right ahead and breaks all the rules…and does it with gusto.

Her style is not one I choose to emulate for obvious reasons – one being that figure, those washboard ab’s and two being LA based rock star Vs New Forest forty-something fashion blogger. Need I say more.

Rule break No. 1 – the peak cap worn with cape. Off the wall but I like it on Gwen. Rule break No. 2 – wearing the Michael Kors Ikat-print matt-sateen top with the matching pants. On most mere mortals, not good. On Gwen – perfectly acceptable.

Meanwhile back in the real world, here’s my slightly more simplistic monochrome version…

I’d wear this for an evening out…preferably somewhere very chic. Would you wear a printed top like this and what do you think of Gwen Stefani’s style?
