Whilst out Christmas shopping recently, I fell foul of the classic habit of allowing myself to be distracted from gift matters at hand by matters of the fashion variety. In this instance it was a boyfriend shirt in Gap.

I was drawn to its soft shape, red & navy check…and the 40% off label hanging enticely about its person. And so it came to pass that, together with a number of other pieces that I declared essential for holiday season relaxed dressing, it ended up in my basket and was swiftly ushered home to join its new family in my wardrobe.

Having long been a fan of the boyfriend blazer and the proud owner of a pair of boyfriend jeans, I’m surprised it’s taken me this long to get on board with the shirt.

Wearing it a couple of weekends ago inspired a relaxed, somewhat masculine vibe for the rest of my outfit with the Jaeger London city style coat and wool scarf by Johnstons Of Elgin that I found nestling in the goody bag from the British Fashion Awards.
What do you think of the boyfriend shirt and would you wear one?

You look great and yet again I’m impressed by your ability to pull off any look with authentcity! I might wear one but on me I’d probably go for more “girly” colours – suspect that defeats the purpose though! xx
