An Outfit Inspired By Olivia Palermo

Since I started blogging, I’ve found so much inspiration for my own wardrobe. I consider having access to all the examples of great style I come across on a daily basis to be a huge perk of the job!

Unless you’ve been absent for the last four years, you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of Olivia Palermo’s style and given any opportunity, will wax lyrical about her ability to put a look together. I thought it would be fun to practice what she preaches, so with all the mental images of what Olivia wears firmly imprinted in my brain, I delved into my wardrobe.

The key elements of striped sweater, statement necklace and biker jacket with shearling gilet worn over the top were completed by the velvet Eleonora boots from Stylistpick that I’d been lusting over for weeks.

In this instance I decided the leather skinnies are best left to Olivia so I opted for my Zara navy coated jeans…and decreed the pretzel not a necessary part of the look.

It was great fun to put together an outfit a la Olivia although I fully admit that the thought of having my photo right next to hers was somewhat daunting and not something I’d want to do too often!

What do you think about the occasional “Inspired by…” outfit post and is it something you’d like to see more of on The Online Stylist?

As someone who very recently started following your blog, I just wanted to let you know that YOUR style has inspired me! I loved the cover pic with the poncho and fur snood. I’m too small to wear a poncho, but I do have a camel coloured ’60s style swing coat that I love … fur snood has been purchased to go with it and I can honestly say that I wouldn’t have thought of it had I not seen your blog. So thank you!
