Among the gazillion other things I would have said in life pre blog, one of them is that whites should remain firmly in the summer section of the closet. All it took was a few clicks around the glorious cyber world where anything is possible and I was instantly converted to winter whites.
Translating the theory from the glossy inspirational imagery of Tumblr and Pinterest to the reality of a How To post is a another matter. I think in most instances the white should be more of an off white or ivory – whilst that doesn’t make for a pretty post title, it does make the look instantly more wearable.
I would wear white on the top half only, although that doesn’t stop me gazing longingly at the frothy skirt worn by the woman getting into a cab in picture above. Perhaps in another life. Meanwhile here are two looks I would happily wear…
Michael Kors double-breasted melton wool peacoat – Net-A-Porter, Mango patch pocket off-white shirt – John Lewis, Goldsign Misfit straight leg jeans – Net-A-Porter, Marc by Marc Jacobs nude Too Hot To Handle leather tote – My Wardrobe, Marlo fur lined biker boots – Topshop
Mix white with other neutrals – these Goldsign Misfit jeans in grey and the Marc by Marc Jacobs nude tote look great with white. And if anyone can make white look luxurious it’s Michael Kors – that peacoat is a dream of a jacket.
Anton Heunis crystal spike earrings – My Wardrobe, See By Chloé chunky knit wool-blend sweater – Net-A-Porter, Clutch – Baukjen, Saba gold tweed skirt – Phase Eight, Cara lace up suede ankle boot – L.K.Bennett

Winter whites make me think Christmas, frost & blankets of snow. Explains why I like them sparkly, fluffy & snuggly. I agree about the top half only, flattering to the face & lovely with textural greys, taupes & brown – cord, velvet or leather on the bottom half… definitely yes!
I have a gorgeous fitted white will coat that I wear in the winter, it’s quite smart so I wear for nights out and special occasions and always makes me feel good and keeps me warm!
I love winter whites – reminds me of a white mohair sweater i used to wear in my teens, and i used to feel so glamorous in it! nowadays, i go for off white denims with snuggly jumpers. I also love the See by Chloe knit with the neutral skirt shown above. Great post, as usual!
I love these two looks. So luxurious. And some beautiful costume jewlery on a white sweater would look gorgeous.
I adore winter whites. Makes such a nice change in the midst of all the black, brown and charcoal shades that are so popular at this time of year. The Michael Kors peacoat is divine!
