When I try and decide what to wear for a special occasion, I sometimes have a tendency to over think it and end up with clothes in a heap on the bed, accessories strewn across the floor…and still no closer to anything resembling an outfit.
This happens a lot. So now I just revert to the Little Black Dress Strategy – my blank canvas that gives me head space to go free reign with everything else!
In this instance the everything else being a pair of leopard print Mary Janes by Rockport, a gobstopper cocktail ring – always an essential for seasonal sparkle and some silver and tonal jewellery. I fell in love with Clare Hynes jewellery when she leant me this necklace to wear for Fashion Week a couple of years ago. This green amethyst bracelet is from her latest collection prettily titled I Have Butterflies.
The Blaze Knuckleduster clutch is from Stylistpick. I’ve recently partnered up with them to take part in party wear feature – watch out for the post next week if you’re still stuck for festive fashion inspiration.
Back to my starting point – I love this Hunter Dixon Mueller dress kindly sent to my by Black Dress HQ. It’s a floaty dream of a cocktail dress and can be tied in a variety of ways. And to the finishing point? Chanel Rouge Coco in Gabrielle is my new favourite red lipstick and Péridot is now an old favourite for a festive looking manicure.

what a lovely outfit, it must be a universal thing a bedroom with about 15 different outfits strewn all over, i am at the moment trying to work out if i can wear a leopard print blouse with a black leather pencil skirt !! at 45 can i get way with it !!! i will probably end up in the black dress = the old faithful !!
