Given that I live most of the winter in ankle boots, knee high boots, biker boots, welly boots etc, a sunny day is the perfect excuse to put the boots to one side for a moment and break out something a little more refined.
A recent convert to slipper flats, I was thrilled to receive a gift from Jemima Vine of a beautiful python print pair. There’s a certain old school elegance to a beautifully made slipper flat and these Edie slippers with their gold piping and tiny gold logo on the side evoke a more glamorous era for me.
Perfect for weekend comfort, they’re the kind of shoe I’d pair with slim leg trousers and a tux jacket for evening and they’d be great for easy relaxed dressing on Christmas day. Out for a walk in the autumn sunshine with friends at the weekend, I wore mine with Whistles cropped trousers and vest, an open weave knit from Zara and a scarf by Slices London, more on which later.
Old school elegance demands a pearl or two. I love the contemporary feel that the bold silver fastening gives to this Claudia Bradby Biography bracelet – worn next to the Kors rose gold of course!

These are a lovely alternative to ballet flats, which I seem to revert to. Am now tempted to try slipper flats.
P.S. forgot to say loved the pearl bracelet, I was going to buy a Tiffany & Co one but it didn’t sit well on my wrist, but I like the bold silver ring clasp on this bracelet and have just discovered they have matching earrings. These would make the perfect birthday present to myself.
