New On My Style Radar – Vanessa Knox
I recently received a lovely email from ex-New Yorker Vanessa Knox who set up her eponymous label in March 2011. It turns out that we have mutual fashion friends in both Upper Street co-founder Julia Grinham and Alex who I recently met at DKNY proving that it is a small world after all! The final connection that made me sit up and take notice was the fact Vanessa was a co-founder of Isabella Oliver where she was Creative Director and Head Designer for eight years. You already know that I’m a huge devotee of the 365 Collection so it’s not surprising that I clicked straight over to Vanessa Knox in anticipation of what the label has to offer.
Being an absolute sucker for the words draping, jersey, and affordable luxury, the collection was a winner for me so I took up Vanessa’s kind offer of choosing a couple of pieces to try out for myself. I choose the Elena Jersey Draped Tank Top in Cameo Rose and the very appealing Sonya Faux Suede City Shorts.
I absolutely love both pieces and if this wretched rain ever ceases I will be wearing these shorts A LOT this summer, as seen here with a blazer for a smarter feel or with a plain T for relaxed, sunny days.
The quality of the clothing really impressed me – both pieces were well made and beautifully finished, especially the shorts with their front zip pockets and metallic inner pocket lining and trim.
Catering for the needs of the busy, stylish woman with both an everyday and a maternity collection, there are plenty of pieces to be found at Vanessa Knox that would appeal to so many people I know both in blog land and the real world. Maternity collection aside, as that one definitely no longer applies for me, here are a few of my favourites…
1. Svetlana Jersey Maxi Dress 2. Cleo Silk Cashmere Cardigan 3. Valentina Gold Metallic Linen Skirt 4. Amandine Silk Print Party Dress 5. Milla Faux Suede Biker Jacket
I’ll definitely be recommending pieces from Vanessa Knox to fashion friends, readers and Style Advice Service clients alike. What do you think of the collection and do you have a favourite piece?
