Having snagged a navy lace overlay dress in the French Connection sale last summer, I was pleased to see that there was still plenty of lace on the SS12 catwalks of Miu Miu, Ederm, Dolce & Gabbana & Moschino. Not that something has to be on a catwalk for me to want to wear it – spending the majority of my time in a New Forest village doesn’t require that much cutting edge fashion! The fact that the lace trend continues on for another season just makes that dress even more of a bargain.
It doesn’t stop at dresses – one of the easiest ways to wear lace is to keep it just for the top half and balance with jeans and ankle boots. The black lace dress is a classic that can be re-worked time and time again – for evening add dramatic heels a la Tibi or style as per the gorgeous dress at Isabella Oliver 365 Collection with peep toe ankle boots and it instantly hops from classic to edgy in the blink of an eye.

That Dorothy Perkins dress is so cute!! Love the studding detail. Also, love the Tibi dress – but a little out of my price range, I think! xx
I have a black dress and a top from Coast which I wear a lot! Love the beige studded lace trimmed dress you chose from Dorothy Perkins:)

I’ve always been a bit scared of lace in the past, for fear of looking like Madonna *circa Like a virgin * . But i really, really love all your picks, like, all of them!

Either I’m becoming Madonna or they are getting better at the whole lace thing.
Im going to loose my phobia and get me some lace!
Thanks for the inspiration, as always
I bought the Oasis dress in black a few days ago. I love the light-coloured lace dresses but I’m scared they will look too bridal and I don’t want to scare The Boy! The styling of the Isabella Oliver 365 dress is gorgeous, need to get me some peep toe ankle booties.
