Well I never thought I would be able to put those words next to each other on the same line – at least without hearing the slap of a restraining order in my general vicinity. In amongst all the breathtaking shows, glamour and gossip, one of the highlights of my London Fashion Week experience was seeing Olivia Palermo in person… albeit momentarily. It is after all better to bathe briefly in the glow than to never set eyes upon your style hero!
Whilst queuing for the Jaeger London SS12 show, I was receiving tweets and texts from friends out in the fashion field to say Olivia had been at Emilio and was en route to Jaeger London – be still my beating heart! I managed to get in to the show standing at the back but unfortunately, Olivia was on the same side of the catwalk as me so I couldn’t see her. I knew where she was however due to the paparazzi scrum that was unfolding before my eyes. To say that cameras and lights were shoved in her face was pretty much an understatement – to see it is a bit of an eye opener.
We filed out after the show and I was considering hanging about in case she passed by. Alex stopped to say Hi and she knew I was style stalking Olivia – I’m guessing that the look in my eyes gave it away! Just as I was thinking that she’d snuck out a snide door and started putting my camera away, Emily hissed “It’s her…. she’s coming this way!” Cue much cursing under the breath and faffing with camera settings from me before managing to catch a hasty photo of big sunnies, a glossy mane and a stylish retreat.
Limited view or not, I felt somewhat elated to be within six feet of such sartorial perfection. Having previously debated the merits of a midi-skirt in my head, Olivia may have persuaded me to give a it a go – to keep it out of frumpy territory the heels have to be BIG. I think La Palermo is sporting Charlotte Olympia here but Kurt Geiger have similar.

Just look at that gorgeous glossy mane of hair…beautiful!!
LOVE the clutch and the shoes ….but have to say I am not loving that jacket, even on our lovely Olivia! Can’t believe I said that!!
Very exciting sighting of her tho
I think that jacket is kind of Marmite and you’d need to be careful what you wore it with. I LOVE that clutch too & definitely need to know her hair secret. Maybe she’ll share it on her new blog! xxx
OMG. That is all I can say! Did I tell you my Husband went to Burberry? Sat opposite Kanye, Gemma Arterton, Mario Testino etc! It’s a comedy trying to spot him on the live stream. Alas, no goody bag and no celeb photos. Olivia is all. Love love love. Lou x
NO?!? Where was your ticket?? How amazing – hope he loved it! That is rather awesome and tell him I have new-found respect! xxx
You missed out the bit where her security had to march you out – and far far away!!!! Haha!!!
Good work – and happy to have helped in the Olivia spotting!!
xx
Slanderous Miss E!
But can you imagine if thats what happens if you approach the great one? Not that I would ever have the nerve to speak to her! xx
